How long will it take to ghostwrite my book?
A well-organized, short business book or travel memoir can take as little as two months. Ghostwriting a life story, business history, or novel can take four to six months.
Does the ghostwriter get any credit?
Generally not, unless you want to give it. You own all rights to your ghostwritten book including the copyright. The ghostwriter does not participate in any royalties or other income from book sales.
How do I know the ghostwriter won’t steal my idea?
At your request, Marjorie will send you a signed non-disclosure agreement that protects you and covers all your legal rights prior to discussing your story.
Does the ghostwriter work on a contingency?
No. Marjorie is paid a flat fee over the life of the project. She does not participate in any royalties nor does she wait for deferred payment until your book is published or made into a movie.
What does the ghostwriter’s fee cover?
The fee to ghostwrite your book covers all interview time with you and others to get the complete story. It also includes all research, writing, editing, and rewriting as well as book design.
How are the ghostwriter’s fees paid?
There is an initial deposit and then subsequent monthly payments broken down into equal amounts to be paid as each phase of the work is completed.
How much will it cost to have my book ghostwritten?
The fee ranges from $20,000 for a how-to book or travel memoir to $50,000 for a novel, depending upon the length and nature of the tale. A life story memoir or a business or organizational history usually costs between those two amounts.
Does the ghostwriter provide any other services?
Yes indeed. When your story is nearing completion Marjorie will consult with you on your publishing choices. Her private publishing house, Treasured Legacies, can have your book printed and bound at a separate cost, or you may choose to self-publish your work. She can provide you with copyright registration, a Library of Congress Control Number and ISBN registration if you want to offer your book for sale.
